What You’ll Do:

As a US GAAP Technical Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role within the Controllership team, reporting directly to the Head of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A), to improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting Leadership:

    • Serve as the technical accounting expert, providing guidance on complex transactions and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

    • Evaluate and interpret FASB and SEC pronouncements to assess their impact on the company.

    • Prepare and review technical memos on complex accounting matters and provide clear, actionable insights.

  • Policy Development & Training:

    • Establish and maintain a technical accounting update program to train the broader finance community.

    • Oversee and update technical accounting policies, ensuring alignment with evolving industry practices.

  • Accounting Oversight:

    • Manage accounting for leases, stock compensation, pension, derivatives, goodwill, and intangible assets.

    • Oversee business combinations and other corporate-level transactions.

  • Internal Controls & Compliance:

    • Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity.

    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with SOX and audit requirements.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:

    • Act as a key point of contact for technical accounting matters and provide updates to leadership.

    • Prepare and present detailed reports on technical accounting findings and policy updates.

  • Ad-Hoc Projects:

    • Support various ad-hoc matters related to US GAAP technical accounting and SEC compliance.


What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Certification:

    • Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or an equivalent qualification.

  • Experience:

    • 5-8 years of experience in public accounting or a related industry, with a strong technical accounting focus.

    • Expertise in US GAAP, including research and interpretation of accounting standards.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of technical accounting policies across key areas (e.g., leases, derivatives, stock compensation).

    • Ability to work in a SOX-compliant environment within a public company setting.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

    • Proactive and detail-oriented approach to technical accounting assessments and process improvements.

    • Collaborative mindset with a positive, adaptable approach to changing priorities.
