About the International Card Acquisitions Team

The International Card Acquisitions team uses advanced application capture technologies to enhance and secure the credit card application process worldwide. Through the integration of sophisticated data analytics and automated verification systems, the team ensures:

Position Overview – Staff Engineer

The Staff Engineer will play a critical role in enabling technical excellence by designing scalable systems, improving code quality, and driving innovation. This position fosters a collaborative culture by mentoring others and ensuring development teams operate efficiently while aligning with strategic business objectives.

Purpose of the Role

• Lead the development of distributed platforms to support business growth and diversification.

• Improve product quality and cost-efficiency through innovation and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Innovation & Technology Integration

• Drive innovation by pushing the boundaries of technology.

• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to solve complex problems.

1. Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Set technical direction and lead architectural discussions.

• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to align technical goals with business objectives.

• Communicate technical strategies and updates to senior leadership.

1. System Design & Development

• Design and architect complex, scalable, and distributed systems using microservices architecture.

• Develop backend services using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

• Build frontend solutions using React.js, including hooks, state management (e.g., Redux), and component lifecycle.

1. Operational Excellence

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

• Enhance system monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.

1. Mentorship & Continuous Improvement

• Cultivate a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring and feedback.

• Drive efficiency through the adoption of best practices and performance metrics.

Qualifications & Experience

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.

• Expertise in Java, React.js, Spring Boot, Spring, and Hibernate.

• Proficiency in frontend frameworks (React.js) with hands-on experience in hooks, lifecycle methods, and Redux.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and building distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

• Advanced knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

• Proven leadership experience in large-scale project delivery from concept to deployment.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Pega knowledge is an advantage.
