Senior Analyst, Data Management & BI Reporting – SES

Role Description Summary

The Data Services team at SES is dedicated to fostering a strong data-driven decision-making culture by leveraging data trends, products, and services to create business value. A key focus is on Data Science and Machine Learning, helping to solve complex data challenges.

This role requires a deep understanding of business challenges, applying data analysis, modeling, and processing to develop predictive insights. The Senior Analyst will work with structured and unstructured data, offering solutions that enable informed decision-making.

The position also involves mentoring peers, supervising external consultants, and supporting SES Data Governance initiatives. Responsibilities include managing Microsoft Fabric Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, etc.), supporting business reporting teams, and enhancing data visualization tools.

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

Data Platform Administration & Support

✅ Maintain and administer Microsoft Fabric Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, etc.).
✅ Monitor daily logs, troubleshoot, and take action in case of errors.
✅ Ensure maintenance and execution of Power BI governance.
✅ Engage with business users, supporting data access and modeling needs.

Data & Business Intelligence Strategy

✅ Contribute to SES's Data-Driven Organization Strategy.
✅ Develop and enhance cloud data infrastructure and models.
✅ Support SES Data Governance initiatives and lead data management/analyzing streams.
✅ Engage with Business Process/Product Owners to define and implement process enhancements.

Data Visualization & Reporting

✅ Build reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring best practices and integration with SAP BW and Azure Data Lake.
✅ Support end-to-end automation of customer operations and SLA reporting.
✅ Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of reporting processes.
✅ Establish a culture of continuous improvement in reporting standards across the company.

Collaboration & Training

✅ Train and support internal users on reporting applications and tools.
✅ Engage with third-party vendors for support and solution enhancements.
✅ Manage small-scale Data & BI projects.
✅ Supervise internal/external resources as needed during development lifecycles.

Competencies

✅ Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in Power BI, including Gateway, Power BI Desktop, and best practices.
• Strong report-building skills in Power BI.
• Experience with SAP BW and Azure Data Lake (Databricks).
• Knowledge of Azure Databricks and cloud-based data infrastructure.

✅ Problem Solving & Time Management:

• Ability to troubleshoot and solve data-related issues efficiently.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects.

Qualifications & Experience

???? Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business.

???? Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with MS Power BI.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms and analytics tools.
• Experience in an international business environment.

???? Certifications & Additional Skills:

• Azure Data Engineering/Science certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of AI/ML and applied AI solutions (a plus).
• Fluency in written and oral English (additional languages are a plus).

Additional Key Requirements & Work Environment

???? Key Focus Area:

• Supporting and improving SES’s reporting and analytics, particularly in customer operations and SLA reporting.
• Collaborating with Customer Operations Managers to ensure accuracy, automation, and timeliness of reporting.

• Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation for business operations support.
