Role Summary

This role provides leadership in process engineering, technology transfer, and Greenfield/Brownfield project management within and beyond Lubrizol’s manufacturing facilities in India.

Key Communication Channels

???? Internal: Global stakeholders from Operations, Process Technology, and Project Management teams.
???? External: Engineering consultants, equipment suppliers, automation package vendors, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Transfer & Project Execution

✔ Act as Package Owner for technology transfer from other plants and coordinate with the global technology team.
✔ Participate in Greenfield and Brownfield projects, focusing on technology understanding, safety studies (HAZOP, QRA, LOPA, etc.).
✔ Lead Design Basis, Calculations, Process Description, and Control Scheme development.
✔ Review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
✔ Supervise basic and detailed engineering with consultants and verify heat & mass balance calculations.
✔ Ensure vendor process guarantees and validate equipment specifications & technical offers.

Commissioning & Operations Readiness

✔ Develop and lead plant pre-commissioning and commissioning strategy for timely execution.
✔ Ensure smooth product trials and technology transfer for commercial production.
✔ Oversee handover from technology suppliers/vendors to ensure quality compliance.
✔ Ensure proper handover of the plant to the Operations Team after commissioning.

Training & Development

✔ Develop training modules for the operations team during pre-commissioning & commissioning.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

???? Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed university.
???? 15 - 18 years of experience in chemical, polymer, or compounding plant operations with expertise in:

• Manufacturing
• Process Engineering
• Technology Transfer
• Project Management

Technical Skills

???? Software Expertise: Aspen+, MixIT, HTRI, AutoCAD.
⚙ Strong knowledge of chemical plant unit operations.
???? Experience in working with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
???? Ability to be mobile and support global projects.
