Role Description

The Automation Engineer role involves designing, engineering, developing, documenting, integrating, testing, commissioning, and supporting SCADA, DMS, or related automation solutions for electrical networks of ETAP Software. The role requires using a variety of skills, tools, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning of Control Room Setup, SCADA-DMS system with RTU/PLC communication.

• System engineering for automation control projects based on programmable controllers, operator/field devices using SCADA software.

• Independently handle commissioning and service activities in Power Equipment.

• Provide support to customers, users, and ETAP field personnel for troubleshooting, operation, inspection, and maintenance.

• Perform on-site installation and configuration of SCADA-DMS systems.

• Troubleshoot and test SCADA systems, fault finding, and troubleshooting during and after the installation process.

• Experience in creating SCADA & DMS Database configurations for equipment like Router, RTU, FRTU, MODEM, Firewall, etc.

Essential Requirements

• Experience: 2 to 5 years in automation & SCADA solutions.

• Extensive knowledge of SCADA databases and communication devices such as modems, Repeaters, GSM, GPRS, Gateway, Routers, Firewalls, Ethernet, and OFC.

• Expertise with communication protocols such as DNP3, IEC60870-5-101/104/IEC61850, and MODBUS.

• Familiarity with RTUs, IED, PLC systems, and components used in RTU/Control cabinets (power supplies, UPS, batteries, GSM/GPRS/3G/4G modems, etc.).

• Ability to design SCADA/DMS/ADMS/OMS systems and understanding of relay coordination and PPC & MGC functionality.

Desired Skills

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Control Systems, Electronic/Electrical/CSE/IT Engineering, or equivalent.

• 2 to 5 years of experience developing SCADA and network solutions.

• Technical certifications preferred.

• Experience with VMware, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, VBScript, and Python.

• Familiarity with SQL, Mongo, Oracle & Pie databases.

• Knowledge of relay integration on IEC-61850 protocol (ABB, Siemens, Micom, Ashida, CGL & Schneider, etc.).
